Extended Travel Tips

Well, hello.

This post is all about what we do to make our lives easier when we’re traveling for extended periods.

We came up with a list of 7 tips we can’t do without when we’re on a long-haul trip.

Let’s zone in here and get specific on the recommendations we think are the most helpful:

1. Buy A Standard Luggage Scale

This way you can eliminate extra baggage costs. Here’s one from Amazon Basics to keep on you.

Amazon Basics Portable Digital Luggage Weight Scale, Black

Technical details: weight (oz), 3.63 oz (102.9 g)

2. Save On Accommodations With Crewfare

Paying for hotels is one of the biggest travel expenses. So it makes sense to book your hotel stay ahead of time.

And to know where to find the best deals.

Seriously – we have the best discounts. We also have flexible payment options and ways to defer hotel payments too.

Book through Crewfare and save here.

3. Scan Your Passport

If you haven’t done it, make.a.copy.of.your.passport.

Because not having a backup of your passport can be a mess.

The point is: you can use a copy of your passport if your passport is ever stolen, or if you lose it.

@travel.tanae

Prepare and protect your passport .. i can’t stress enough on how important it is .. it’s hectic trying to get back in the country without a passport. #summer2023 #cheapflightsforeveryone #travelinpeace #TSAPrecheck #travelebook #airplanetravelhacks #falltrips #wintertrips #bathingsuitshopping #quickpassport #getyourpassport #summertrips2022 #Cheaptravelhacks #roadtrip2022 #travelbeginners

4. Avoid Jet Lag With Exercise

Oh, you didn’t know that exercise could limit your jet lag after a long flight?

Yes, this is the tip of your dreams. We’ve tried so many different ways to beat jet lag and this is the one that works for us.

If you want to feel like the pro traveler you are then get a bit of movement in after you land.

It’s so worth it. Try this and see if it works for you.

5. Make Friends Using Apps

At some point while away for a long period, you might want to make new friends.

A great way to make friends is through apps like BumbleBFF

6. Book A Bar Crawl

If you’re looking for an incredible night out, book yourself in for a bar crawl.

Ultimately, you are going to have a great time, meet friends and experience nightlife while discovering lots of new different spots.

@lasvegasriggs

I genuinely recommend this crawl to everyone I know visiting Vegas 💜 if you check it out let me know! @royalcrawl #royalcrawl #linqpromenade #linq #lasvegas #vegasstrip #vegastiktok #QuakerPregrain #vegasbaby #vegasfoodie

4 of our favorite places to grab a drink:

FLANAGAN’S, which has a great atmosphere and a killer drink menu. They’ve got everything from craft cocktails to local beers.

The NO NAME SALOON has a super laid-back vibe, tasty snacks, and great beer selection…. also the BEST vibes.

And if wine is your thing, you definitely need to check out OLD TOWN CELLARS – they’ve got a huge selection of vino, plus some delicious small plates to enjoy.

~Major tip: During peak season, it’s always a good idea to call ahead and make a reservation. That way, you can guarantee that you’ll have a spot to enjoy a drink. However, during the off-season, reservations may not be necessary – it’s always worth calling ahead to check, though.

APRÈS-SKI

At THE SPUR, get in some live music and drinks while cozying up by the fireplace. THE VINTAGE ROOM AT THE ST. REGIS offers a more elegant atmosphere with stunning mountain views and handcrafted cocktails.

For a laid-back vibe, check out the NO NAME SALOON, where you can grab a beer and play a game of pool.

And at the  MONTAGE SKI LOUNGE, you can sip on champagne and indulge in gourmet bites.

But the restaurants though… Advice: make reservations ahead of time

Crewfare’s Wish List Of 8 Luxury Hotels To Escape To With Your Significant Other

Ahhhh. Taking A Couples Luxury Vacation.

Feels sooo good. Like really, really good.

Especially when life gets crazy and you need to seriously enjoy time with your significant other.

So we did a lot of research and created a wish list of the 8 luxury hotels we want to escape to.

Where we imagine ourselves sleeping in until noon, talking about the future, sipping on cocktails and wine, laying by the pool, being slobs (and also getting all dolled up), and doing absolutely nothing with the person we love.

And now we’re dying to stay at these places.

In no particular order, these 8 splurge-worthy hotels are on our couples’ dream travel list.

*BOOK THROUGH CREWFARE to get different payment options and to plan couples or group travel.

FOUR SEASONS BORA BORA

This luxury resort is so major. Get picked up in a boat at the airport, and stay in an overwater bungalow suite. Private beach, spa, and plunge pools. Swim. Unwind. Relax. Connect.

Best time to visit: during the dry season from May to August, peak tourist season and higher hotel prices are in June and July

VILLA CORA

Located in Florence, Italy

Stunning and romantic. Gilded. Frescoes. Subterranean Spa.

This hotel is considered one of the best in the world. Built in the 1860s by a German financier, it overlooks the Boboli Gardens in the hills outside of Florence. Relax in your luxe suit until late morning and then easily head into town later in the day with Villa Cora’s private shuttle service.

Best time to visit: between May and September

SIX SENSE YAO NOI

Located on Yao Noi island in Phuket, Thailand

Barefoot-chic. Take a speed boat to the island and escape to an overwater villa or bungalow.

We’re dying to explore this spot. This hotel is perched on the edge of a very high cliff. You’ll be able to see the Bay of Naples, the Vesuvius volcano, the Sorrento Peninsula, Ischia island, and Capri town from your balcony.

Best time to visit: May to October

BADRUTT’S PALACE HOTEL

Located in St. Moritz, Switzerland

Built in 1896 and located in St. Moritz, Switzerland. This one is high on our wish list for winter travel. Why?

Because we’ve always wanted to go to the Swiss Alps during the snowy months AND we’ve heard how cozy it is high up in the mountains.

Best time to visit: June to mid-October or the winter season

Located in Big Sur, California

It’s definitely THE scenic drive, resort, mountains, and coastline we want to take in with our favorite person.

Secluded. Peaceful. 1800-acre nature reserve. We seriously need to experience this.

Best time to visit: April to June

THE PENINSULA HOTEL BEVERLY HILLS

Located in Beverly Hills city, Los Angeles, California

Where service is considered an art form. It’s the only AAA Five Diamond and Forbes Five Star-rated hotel in Southern California. And it’s a 12-minute walk to shop on Rodeo Drive.

What To Wear To Rolling Loud LA

Who’s going to Rolling Loud LA?

The Rolling Loud weekend-long festival is known as one of the biggest hip-hop festivals in the world. And it’s THE PLACE to be for hip-hop culture and fashion.

Since Rolling Loud LA is coming up shortly… (this year it runs from March 3-5), let’s talk about how to plan the perfect outfit.

We want to make sure you keep these 3 things in mind when planning your outfit:

  1. Firstly, make sure you’re wearing layers so you’re dressed for hot weather during the day and cold at night.
  2. Secondly, combine streetwear, and athleisure so you’re comfortable and feel good in what you have on.
  3. Lastly, keep in mind that you might never wear this outfit again. Yes, that’s right, you might ruin your clothes at the festival. Given that there are festival situations that can do your clothes in (believe us, there are situations), be prepared to say goodbye to whatever you’re wearing after the festival is over. Wear nothing that matters to you or that you know may only be worn once.

Ok and here are some clothing combinations that would work and that fit our outfit guidelines:

  • a tracksuit and t-shirt
  • a sweatsuit and crop-top
  • a windbreaker and comfy pants duo
  • some bike shorts, and a t-shirt with a heavier jacket, hoodie, or fleece

And for shoes…

Wear your favorite sports shoes. But if you’re choosing white Adidas Sambas or Converse (anything with white), know that they will never be that white again.

Anyway, you’ll have a wonderful time. And choosing a well-thought-out and purposeful outfit is going to make all the difference.

You’re Now Fit Ready ✅

Bonus: here are a few additional things to consider about bags, accessories, and hydration:

  1. Remember your Rolling Loud wristband: make sure to put it on the day of the show (and not before). Seriously, if you put it on you’ll be wearing it to the day of the show.
  2. Remember there’s a clear bag policy: your bag needs to be clear, see details about this here.
  3. Remember to bring a hydration pack (clear) or water bottle.
  4. Bring a bandana or face mask to keep dust from going into your mouth and throat

Crewfare Survival Guide to Rolling Loud LA

Hip Hop fans are eagerly waiting to find out the full lineup for Rolling Loud LA, happening March 3-5, 2023 in Inglewood. If previous Rolling Louds are any indication, it’s going to be some of the biggest names in Hip Hop, as well as exciting up-and-coming rappers and Hip Hop artists. Though you can’t yet plan your set list, you can get started on planning your weekend. Here’s our top tips for making the most of the world’s biggest Hip Hop festival.

Pack your purse or bag wisely

Rolling Loud only allows clear bags and backpacks that are smaller than 12” x 6” X 12”. You can get away with a small clutch (less than 6.5”x 4.5”), but everything else is a no-go. You don’t want to be surprised by this at the entrance! Make sure you have an appropriate bag and pack it carefully. Familiarize yourself with Rolling Loud’s bag policy, including items that are and are not allowed (pro tip: ditch the aerosol sunscreen, bring chapsticks and eye drops unopened). If you don’t yet own a clear backpack, you can get a Rolling Loud branded one ahead of time.

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate

When the bench is as deep as it is at Rolling Loud, you don’t want to miss a thing. That means you need to pace yourself–don’t drink too much too fast, remember to eat, and remember to drink water! A spring day in LA is basically perfect weather, and with all the excitement of being at such an amazing show it’s easy to forget how tired your body is getting. One thing you can bring into Rolling Loud is a clear (empty) Camelbak, so you can easily keep it full and keep your body going for the entire festival.

Learn about parking at Hollywood Park

If you’re planning on driving to SoFi stadium for Rolling Loud, first of all, make sure you have a sober driver lined up. Then, make a parking plan. You can purchase parking passes ahead of time in one of SoFi stadium’s lots using Parkwhiz. Another alternative is to look for a secure garage near a Metro station and take the C Line to Hawthorne/Lennox Station. From there you can get a shuttle service to SoFi stadium. If you’ve ever sat in a parking lot traffic jam at the end of a long day, you can understand why a metro ride might feel like a better option.

Bring portable chargers!

Remember how we said you should pack your bag wisely? Well extra battery life for your phone is something that you should definitely bring with you. Bring your spare chargers so you don’t have to face the dread of trying to find your friend without a phone in a crowd of multiple thousands.

Know where and when you’re meeting your friends

Speaking of the dread of finding friends without a phone…make a plan for when and how you’re going to meet up with your crew at various points in the festival. Things happen, especially if you have that one friend that insists on running away from the crew. So pick a visible location inside or outside of the venue where you and your friends can plan to meet up when it’s time to go home.

Dress Right

Like we said, March in LA is kind of perfect weather–low seventies and sunny. But if you’re not from LA, be warned that those nights can get chilly! If you’re dancing in a crowd you’ll be burning up, but once you stop you’ll cool off real fast. Layer up so you can strip down or bulk up as needed throughout the day and night.

Find the right place to stay in LA

Crewfare has teamed up with Rolling Loud to bring you a great selection of hotels. These hotel deals are available whether you are traveling to Rolling Loud alone or with a huge crew of people. Future you, happy and exhausted from a full day at Rolling Loud, will definitely appreciate that you chose a great spot to rest your head.

Love,

The Crew
