Five Can’t-Miss European Festivals in 2023

Traveling to festivals, as you know, is tons of fun. You get to be around some of your best friends, meet new people who share the same interests as you, and have a great time making memories that will last a lifetime. This year, add “international travel” to that checklist. Traveling abroad to festivals adds another layer of awesomeness. You get to expand your horizons, see sights and places you’ve never been before, and generally experience things that are new to younew foods, new cultures, new people. Check out our top European Festivals in 2023.

Wilco Festival in Reykjavik, Iceland – April 3-7, 2023

Wilco has been performing together for over two decades, putting out twelve studio albums that feature their own distinctive brand of rock’n’roll. Whether you identify with their “dad-rock” reputation or not, there’s no denying that their catalog is impressive and they put on a hell of a live show. The Wilco Residency in Iceland is the perfect excuse to go see some living legends perform and then explore one of the most beautiful countries in the world. There’s geysers, natural hot springs, stunning hikes, and a great nightlife scene (required when nights last as long as they do in Iceland). And Crewfare can help you find the perfect place to stay with all your friends!

Croatia Yacht Week – July 23-30, 2023

Croatia is known for its  beautiful, pebbled beaches, scenic towns tucked into coves, and the crystal-clear waters that are perfect for swimming. So what better way to explore the “Pearl of the Adriatic” than by boat? During Croatia Yacht Week, happening this summer during the last week of July, you and your friends can charter a yacht (or find a berth to share) and then spend the week relaxing while your captain takes care of the rest. Each day you’ll travel from port to port, explore Croatia’s historic towns, stop to eat and swim, and then meet up with the other participating yachts for float parties, discos, and more.

Mad Cool Festival in Madrid – July 2023

Since 2016, Mad Cool Festival has featured rock, indie and pop music acts. 2022 featured major names like Metallica, Imagine Dragons, Florence and the Machine, Jack White, and more. Although the dates and headliners are still TBD we know some things will remain the same: venue in sunny Madrid, late Spanish nights, where opening acts don’t even take the stage until the 6pm, and collaborations with local artists, photographers, and fashionistas. In other words, a perfect Spanish holiday.

Oktoberfest in Germany – Sep 16 – Oct 3, 2023

Each year in Germany, Oktoberfest–a celebration of beer and Bavarian culture–is held at the largest fairground in Munich, the Theresienwiese. Oktoberfest dates back over two hundred years and is known for its fun, friendly atmosphere. In between rounds of beer you can explore the rides, sample delicious German food, and listen to live music. Sport the traditional Dirndls or Lederhosen while sharing a round of pints with friends old and new in one of the many beer tents.
