Old Ebbitt Grill

Known For: D.C.’s oldest restaurant and bar, opened in 1856 as a boarding house. Some of the past regulars of the bar include Presidents Grant, Johnson, Cleveland, and Teddy Roosevelt.

Order: grilled steak salad, and an Irish Exit (Old Ebbitt Horchata, Espresso, Jameson Irish Whiskey, Montenegro Amaro, Maple Cinnamon)

Biergarten Haus

Known For: Bavarian-style beer hall. Expect a one-liter pour alongside your German food

Order: a pint of German draft beer 0.5 L or 1 L on tap with a Biergarten classic curry worst (sliced Bratwurst with a curry ketchup drizzle and dusted with curry powder. Comes with french fries and sauerkraut).

Known For: they just opened, and the idea is to create a cool neighborhood place to go after work

Order: Cuddy Buddy (rye, orange, lemon, ras el hanout syrup) and a vegan bowl (rice and peas, collard greens, sweet potatoes, and curry cabbage), or seafood mac ‘n cheese (crab, shrimp, and truffle dust)

Known For: The only alcohol you’ll find here is the fizzy kind. They serve all things effervescent

Known For: Virginia-based producer of contemporary and traditional beers, coolship sours, natural wines, ciders, and seltzers. Their D.C. location is in a 3200 square foot space and serves pizza and sandwiches from Pizza Serata, a Michelin Star award-winning chef Chris Morgan, and international pizza czar Anthony Falco
